Office based - Taipei Taiwan or Bejing China
Description
Canonical's Phone Delivery team works with mobile network operators and handset OEMs to commercialize Ubuntu Phone.
Great phone's need good application. We need Software Engineers who have extensive experience on mobile application design and development. You will need to develop applications for Ubuntu phone in Qt and QtQuick (C++/QML/JavaScript).
As doing developments, you will involve on-line account, payment, messaging services using web api, json, OAuth2, etc.
Communitcation skills are also important. International travel is occasionally required.
Experiences in both traditional Linux and mobile app software stack will be a plus
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Design and Implement software to run on Ubuntu Phone
Interact with back-end engineers on the web api design and use
Work with customer engineers to implement and debug Ubuntu Phone Application
Provide technical support for Canonical sales team as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Proven track record of shipping mobile application
C++ and Qt development experience is needed
English and Chinese language communication skills both oral and writing, especially in online environments such as mailing lists and IRC
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qt Quick experience is required, DevOps experience is a plus.
Customer facing skill will be a plus, experiences in working with Chinese Operator or BAT Internet content provider.
Familiarity with open source development tools such as git and bzr, jenkins is a plus
Understanding of middle and low level of Ubuntu components is a plus.
