I am running a test imap server (a very simple one, like a toy) on my localhost.
I can connect it with my thunderbird and everything is working smoothly.
The problem is there is no emails on the server so far and I tried to send some
mails to the address like username@localhost and test it. Unfortunately the SMTP
server (a remote one, like hotmail) responded something like "username@localhost"
is unreachable. So, how can I send mails to this local imap server? Do I have to
run a localhost SMTP server to send the mail?
Any helps will be appreciated.
PS. If anybody and tell me how to fire up SCIM under the english version UBUNTU,

1. you must set the smtp server and the imap server work toget together.
