安装xmms：
xmms的主页： http://www.xmms.org/
解压：
# tar zxvf xmms-1.2.11.tar.gz
进入源码目录：# cd xmms-1.2.11
配置：# ./configure
checking for glib-config... no
checking for GLIB - version >= 1.2.2... no
*** The glib-config script installed by GLIB could not be found
*** If GLIB was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GLIB_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to glib-config.
configure: error: *** GLIB >= 1.2.2 not installed - please install first ***
安装glib：
# apt-get install libglib1.2-dev
再配置：# ./configure
checking for gtk-config... no
checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.2... no
*** The gtk-config script installed by GTK could not be found
*** If GTK was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GTK_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to gtk-config.
configure: error: *** GTK+ >= 1.2.2 not installed - please install first ***
安装gtk-dev：
# apt-get install libgtk1.2-dev
再配置：
# ./configure
编译：# make
安装：# make install
运行xmms# xmms
解决中文显示乱码问题：
1）在用户的主目录下输入：
# ln -s /etc/gtk/gtkrc.zh_CN /etc/gtk/gtkrc.zh_CN.utf-8
这样就可以看到中文字体而不是原来的乱码了。（主要是首选项的内容）
2）修改显示字体
“首选项”－＞“字体（FONT）”
在主窗口和播放清单中输入：
-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal--12-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1,-*-*-medium-r-normal--16-*-*-*-*-*-gb2312.1980-0,*-r-*
3）修改标题显示
“首选项”－＞“标题”－＞“标题格式”修改为：%f
让xmms支持APE格式的插件：
