关于TLB

   请问, TLB和General-purpose hardware caches（L1 cache）的 结构上有区别嘛？也是cache controller ＋　cache memory嘛？
   
   之前有看到相关文章讲到‘Buffer'和'Cache'是不同的. 而我看《操作系统》的时候, Buffer又似乎是一个“概念上”的东西。
   
    所以Buffer是物理存在的硬件器件呢， 还是只是一个概念.

    还有缓冲， 缓存. 究竟哪个是哪个?
  
   求各位大神帮忙解惑.

我的理解：TLB也是一种data cache的方式，只不过这些data只能是页表，专供mmu使用，是一种硬件，在某些体系结构上cache是透明的，而一些嵌入式平台上需要操作系统介入控制；buffer应该是内存中的一些数据结构，比如页高速缓存，块高速缓存等等

TLB也是一种cache，只是根据其特点和容量，做的个适合应用，比如有些L1 TLB做成全相联结构，L2采用组相连多ways结构。
