Job Title:                      Software Engineer

Full/Part Time:                          Full-Time

Responsibility
-Work with a global engineering team to  take charge a TeamofN project.
-Works with little or no supervision.  Is able to take general direction and formulate specific tasks to accomplish the desired end result.
-Anticipates problems and future technical needs and takes necessary corrective steps to ensure they are addressed.
-Designs, develops and maintains high-quality code for highly complex components in a given product.
-Solve critical FileStore and Cluster File System issues faced by Symantec Customers and Partner.
-Participate in problem solving and investigation of various areas of the Cluster File System /Storage/Networking
-Has the ability to work on, prioritize and manage multiple assignments and projects.


Qualification
-At least 2 years of experience in working in the linux kernel, system software domain
-Knowledge of Cluster/File Systems/Storage subsystems, system-level programming and debugging is required
-Operating System Internals and Strong C/C++ /Perl/Shell  Programming skills is a must
Knowledge of  Enterprise Linux  would be must
-Knowledge of  Unix platform ,Solaris ,HP_UX,AIX  would be optional  
-Good Problem solving skills, analytical skills desired
-Good team player
-Good knowledge of networks TCP/IP, NFS. CIFS would be a plus
- BS / MS in CS/CE/EE with a background in storage systems required




Job Title:                Senior Software Performance Engineer
Location:                CHN - Beijing, China
Full/Part Time:                Full-Time
Regular/Temporary:        Regular


Responsibilities
PEG is looking for an experienced performance engineer to work on customer centric performance measurement projects. The candidate will measure, analyze, and enhance SAMG product performance using workloads and configurations from key customers. The objective is to uncover and resolve potential performance issues which is not covered by regular performance regression.
Characterize customer’s workloads and configurations to build top 50 customer profiles.
Set up measurement environments according to customer profiles.
Develop operational workloads according to customer profiles and conduct measurement.
Automate performance measurement task execution.
Identify and analyze performance issues from measurement data collected.
Address performance issues through tuning and/or product enhancement.
               
Qualifications
BS degree in Computer Science or a similar field with 5 years of experience in performance engineering or software development.
Excellent communication and team work skills
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Hands on experience with server, storage, and infrastructure hardware and operating systems.
Hands on experience with enterprise software: database, middle ware, mail servers, web servers, etc.
Familiar with industrial benchmark such as TPC-C, TPC-H, SPECsfs, IOZone, etc.
Familiar with performance monitoring, profiling, and tracing tools.
                       

Job Title:                      Princ Software Engineer

Responsibility

Work with a global engineering team to  take charge a TeamofN project.
Work with little or no supervision.  Is able to take general direction and formulate specific tasks to accomplish the desired end result.
Responsible for the design, development and implementation of complete software components.
Anticipates problems and future technical needs and takes necessary corrective steps to ensure they are addressed.
Look upon to offer direction, guidance and mentoring to lesser skilled individuals on the team.  
Designs, develops and maintains high-quality code for highly complex components in a given product.
Solve critical FileStore and Cluster File System issues faced by Symantec Customers and Partner.
Participate in problem solving and investigation of various areas of the Cluster File System /Storage/Networking
Has the ability to work on, prioritize and manage multiple assignments and projects.  
May act as team lead or technical lead for a large portion of or an entire project

Qualification

At least 6 years of experience in working in the Unix/linux kernel, system software domain
Knowledge of Cluster/File Systems/Storage subsystems, system-level programming and debugging is required
Operating System Internals and Strong C/C++ /Perl/Shell Programming skills is a must
Knowledge of Enterprise Linux would be must
Knowledge of UNIX platform, Solaris, HP_UX, and AIX would be optional  
Good Problem solving skills, analytical skills desired
Good team player and can lead  
Good knowledge of networks TCP/IP, NFS. CIFS would be a plus
Software performance tuning experience is a plus

Job Title:                         Sr Tech Support Lab Admin
Location:                         CHN - Beijing, China
Full/Part Time:                     Full-Time
Regular/Temporary:        Regular


Responsibilities  
Ability to work in shifts which might include nights and weekends
- Understands the requirements of the larger support operation.
- Be able to work afterhours and do weekend work when required.
- Manage  infrastructure to support Symantec  products.
- Identifies improvements to both existing and required lab processes.
- Acts as a primary Lab liaison with local Support management and other local internal and external groups.
- Defines standard and solutions on best satisfying local and global needs.  
- Assigns tasks for lower-level Lab Administrators.  
- Provides technical assistance and escalation support for Lab Administrators at all centers.
- Attends regular meetings with representatives of the Technical Support teams to determine issues and review lab status.
- A positive, friendly attitude and the ability to work in a team environment
- Network administration experience, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/technical certificate
- Passionate about technology
- Proved track record of being a role model for more junior members of the team.
- Travel may be required.  
  
  
Qualifications  
Required Core technical competences:
- 3+ years experience in UNIX or Windows system administration or support role
- Experience with at least 2 of the following operating systems: Linux (RedHat or Suse), Solaris, HP/UX, AIX , Microsoft Windows.
- Must be physically capable of lifting systems that weight around t 50-100 pounds (22-44 KGs) occasionally
- Must have physical fitness to bend in order to perform cabling tasks.
- Hands on proficiency with substantial knowledge and experience in:
-Managing, troubleshooting and fixing UNIX or Intel/AMD based servers and desktops
-Networking and sharing of resources in a LAN/WAN environment
-Security practices and technologies
-Managing remote servers
- An understanding of hardware architecture including experience of hardware management, configuration and confidence in different types of hardware like tape libraries, disk arrays,
- Basic knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, NIS, NFS, CIFS, et al.) and network routing.

Desirable Core technical competences
- Knowledge of Backup Devices & Software
- Knowledge of SAN and Storage devices
- Knowledge of Remote Imaging Solutions (JumpStart/Ghost/OpForce/Ignite/NIM)
- Database knowledge from installation and configuration point of view
- Expert experience on at least one of the following Symantec products – Veritas Volume manager, Veritas Cluster server, VVR, Netbackup for Unix, Veritas oracle RAC on the Unix platform, Symantec End point protection, Symantec Altiris, etc..

以前的一个同事,一起同事3年了,没见过一次,今年他去赛门铁克后,居然在用户现场碰到了
