dcopserver的问题?

freebsd4.4      desktop environment:KDE
进入字符界面,执行startx后,在初始化intercourses communication时,
跳出错误提示框,内容如下:
there was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The message returned by the system was:
could not read network connection list.
/root/.DCOPserver_qll.123.com_:0
Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running.
于是,就输入dcopserver命令启动该服务器(能否解释一下该服务器的作用),
但是有出现了一个错误,提示说$DISPLAY is not set.
执行echo $DISPLAY,没有显示内容,但小弟又不知如何设置,请大虾指点.
另外,为什么在连续执行startx n(n不定)次后,又可以成功登录,甚是奇怪!!!
