b. Function Test Engineer
Tags: Jr around 3yrs, Sr. aroud 5 yrs Blackbox, Manual Test/ Knowledge of Java and web service / oralce
Job Responsibility:
- Design, development and execution of test plans and test cases, contribute to functional, integration, certification, and regression testing, and work closely with specialists in areas such as accessibility, security, and performance.
- Work with developers and managers to develop innovative testing solutions and improve product testability. Take ownership for test strategies that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, as well as translating into realistic project schedules. Monitor adherence to testing goals and principles.
- Work with product managers to ensure that requirements are clearly and completely documented, and provide feedback on behalf of product users. Collaboratively determine quality objectives for each product and translate those into priorities for the test strategy.
- Identify opportunities for improvements to the process and technology, characterize the efficiency or effectiveness gains to be had, propose specific changes to address those opportunities, and help drive the adoption of those changes.
- Work closely with qa manager, product managers, and product development teams in the change management process. Identify and communicate schedule and resource impacts, and provide alternative scenarios to address the changes needed.
- Identify project risks, and create mitigation and remediation plans to reduce risk and minimize impact. Communicate the risks to qa manager and the project team.
- Develop/maintain automation tests. And work with the team to identify an effective automation strategy utilizing available frameworks.
- Identify project dependencies and communicate impacts to affected development/QE organizations to ensure successful testing as well as deployment
Job Requirements:
- Hands-on experience testing sophisticated browser-based applications
- Deep understanding of the software life cycle, and experience creating test plans and test cases for functional testing of new features, integration testing, regression testing, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to execute testing tasks according to plan, and provide timely and accurate analysis of findings.
- Experience tracking projects and reporting to management on their progress.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Java server-side software and browser-based applications.
- Experience with large software systems and ability to evaluate dependencies between components to evaluate risk. Capability to articulate consequences of different scenarios that make trade-offs between product quality and time to market based on adequate risk analysis, and participate in product-team decisions on those trade-offs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with developers, operations, release management, and QA peers.
- Familiarity with SQL and Oracle or MySQL database.
- Familiarity with Linux commands and experience with batch testing.
- Hands on Java development experience. Experience with continues integration preferred
- Bachelor Degree or Equivalent in computer science plus over 3 years of industry experience.
