\r\n\r\nIt\'s the different concept.\r\n\r\nYou must join in a multicast-group if you want to receive the group\'s multicast packets.There could be multiple processes belong to the same multicast-group on a given host .\r\n\r\nSubnet-directed broadcast is a simpler concept.Just send the packets have a host id of all one bits but a specific subnet ID.No more configuration is needed.
