Root Cause: These are MirrorView messages. This site has Cisco switches and the Cisco Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP) pings the MirrorView ports when Fabric Manager or Device Manager is enabled and licensed. FCP tries to log in on all known initiators. When MirrorView is enabled on the array, the MirrorView ports are initiators and targets. FCP reaches the MirrorView ports and then the CMI Transport Device checks whether the initiator is a valid array. If it is not, the "0 gate(s) found" messages are returned. The messages can provide important information at MirrorView sites where fabric problems exist. Often these events are the only information that allows serious switch configuration problems to be identified.
Fix: These are informational messages returned by the CLARiiON array that the CMI Transport Device found. The messages can usually be ignored and no action is required. A future release of FLARE/MirrorView may reduce the number of messages returned.
Notes: FCP is a storage interface mapping protocol.
