利用Solaris Flash安装技术可以快速地将已安装好的参考系统(也称为主系统)全部或部分克隆到多个客户端,安装速度比传统方式要快许多倍,另外,可以结合Flash和Jumpstart安装技术,更快速的布署安装客户端.
在主系统上创建归档文件(Flash Archive)后,需要将该归档文件分发到客户端,一个常见的、快速的分发技术是与Jumpstart技术相结合（参考“如何制作Jumpstart服务器”一文）.
创建的归档文件可以存储在磁带介质上,通过从光盘介质或者网络(安装)服务器引导客户端,进行归档文件的分发.

前面几个步骤按常规方式安装操作系统,直到安装程序提示选择安装介质的时候,选用 Flash Archive Only,如下:

4. FTP (Flash archive only)
5. Local Tape (Flash archive only)

To select a different media, enter B to go Back.
Please enter the ftp server name or enter B to go back [ftp.host.com] 192.168.1.1
Please enter the path or enter B to go back [/pub/path/to/archive.flar] /opt/sol9F
Please enter the username or enter B to go back [] root
Please enter the password or enter B to go back []
A network proxy is used to provide additional security between your computer and the Internet. If you are not sure of your settings, please see your system administrator.
Please specify the proxy information needed to access the Flash archive:
1. Direct connection to the Internet
2. Use proxy configuration
If you do not use a proxy server to gain access to the Internet, select "Direct Connection to the Internet". If you use a proxy server to gain access to the Internet, select "Use proxy configuration" and then provide the necessary proxy information. [1] 1
You selected the following Flash archives for initial install:
FTP
ftp://192.168.1.1/opt/sol9F
Press Return to continue or enter D to deselect all archives:
To select additional Flash archives, please specify the media where the archives are located.
Media:
