After new install of a Sun[TM] Cluster 3.2 on the Solaris[TM] 10. The
svcs -xv command reports the svc:/system/cluster/scslmand and some other
SMF servies depended on the sclmand are offline.

# svcs -xv
svc:/system/cluster/scslm :default (Sun Cluster cleanup for SLM generated pools/pset)
State: offline since Fri Feb 02 18:04:07 2007
Reason: Dependency svc:/system/pools is absent.

Impact: 6 dependent services are not running:
        svc:/system/cluster/rpc-fed:default
        svc:/system/cluster/cl-svc-cluster-milestone:default
        svc:/system/cluster/sckeysync:default
        svc:/system/cluster/rgm:default
        svc:/system/cluster/scsymon-srv:default
        svc:/system/cluster/scslmclean:defaultThis causes the following problems with the cluster.

1) The following error message is being given in the messages file periodically.

Resolution

WPWMYMF Internal ID use only.

The reason of the svc:/system/cluster/scslm not starting is svc:/system/pools is missing from Solaris. The Solaris 10 releases prior to Solaris[TM] 10 Update 3
does not have the svc:/system/pools by default. It is added through the fix for bug 6440684
incomplete integration of pools service into S10U3. The solution is to install the following patch.

For a sparc system  120629-03 SunOS 5.10: libpool patch or later  
For a x86 system  120630-03 SunOS 5.10: libpool patch or later
