Job Description
L10n Functional QA -453957
Main Responsibilities:
• Learn HP SW product solutions and technologies by reading the manuals and online help or by taking formal/informal training courses.
• Understand software internalization and localization concepts especially localization testing focus areas.
• Generate a test plan for a specified project
• Prepare test cases from scratch or based on system testing or I18n testing cases.
• Set up boxes/environments necessary for further G11n testing
• Execute testing cases
• Submit functionality defects found during testing in defined defect tracking system like Quality Center.
• Track and manage defects, ability to provide testing trend analysis is required for senior testers.
• Proactively verify defects and conduct regression testing when necessary.
• Generate test reports on a desirable basis, ability to detect risks and manage them
• Participate into regular project meetings
• Trouble shoot any technical issues during testing first before ask for help, the ability to direct team members and assist project lead to find risks and prevent from happening are required for senior testers.
• Know the art how to escalate issues or problems to upper level staff.
Qualifications:
Required:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Familiar with I18n/L10n technologies, tools, and processes.
• Solid testing or development experiences, be familiar with testing process and product development life cycle.
• Familiar with Database such as Oracle, SQL Server and/or PL/SQL.
• Proficient in Windows and UNIX OS (HP-UX, Solaris, Linux) administration.
• Experience in popular applications, such as Weblogic, Websphere, SAP, etc
• Fluent communication in both written and oral English
• Responsible, flexible and enthusiastic
• Strong analytical skill and effective problem solving ability, problem prone.
• Ability to work independently
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Willing to work under pressure and comfortable of working with teams located in various countries
• Quick learner, with ability to understand complex systems thoroughly and to change them efficiently
• Motivated to share experience and help / guide others
• A good team player
Preferred:
• Know 1 or more automation testing tools
• In depth understanding to I18n and l10n concepts, have i18n or L10n testing experiences
• Knowledge of configuration management methodologies, process and tools.
• Knowledge of such operating systems as AIX, TRU-64
• Software development and debugging experience (C, C++, Visual C++, Java, XML) on Windows and UNIX environments (HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, Tru64, Linux).
Additionally desirable skills
• HP BTO product knowledge and experience
