为什么网卡安装完之后无法ping通？

SCO5.0.5
网卡类型为Realtek 8139.
安装驱动程序之后,安装网卡也是正常的.
ping 自己和网关(192.168.1.254或192.168.1.255)都能ping通;
但是ping其它机器则不能连通,请问这是什么原因?

我删除网卡，重装;
再链接重启之后，还是无法ping通:
PING 192.168.1.73 (192.168.1.73): 56 data bytes
ping: sendto: Host is down
ping: wrote 192.168.1.73 64 chars, ret=-1

而ping本地和网关都能ping通:
PING 192.168.1.254 (192.168.1.254): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 192.168.1.254: icmp_seq=0 ttl=255 time=10 ms

(网络配置:
localhost:  scosysv
IP:             192.168.1.178
Gateway:   192.168.1.254
Netmask:   255.255.255.0
)

请问为什么会出现这样的问题呢?
