How to convert binary data to char or varchar?

I failed to convert a binary data to char or varchar.  For example, conevert bianary data 0A4567DE45 to char 0A4567DE45.  I tried both convert and cast, but they gave stuff like #!(FB.

Hi,  you can try function dbconvert

Syntax
INT dbconvert (
PDBPROCESS dbproc,
INT srctype,
LPCBYTE src,
DBINT srclen,
INT desttype,
LPBYTE dest,
DBINT destlen );

Thanks to Yuqin, but dbconvert  is for C.  I am looking for converting the type in T-SQL.  I tried to write a script which concatenates two columns, one column is varchar, another one is binary.  SQL server does not allow different data type concatenation.  Oracle has no such problem.
