I did a mksysb -m to a system, it complains:\r\n0512-040: ... doesn\'t appear to be a type device & doesn\'t have a boot image. \r\n\r\nbootlist: hdisk0, hdisk1, cd0, rmt0\r\n\r\nI did a bosboot -ad hdisk0 and hdisk1, and do the mksysb again, same error message came up.\r\n\r\nin errpt, no recent error except 1 month ago, it complained rmt0 dirty. not sure if the tape is clean or not now. no recent error messages on tape any more.\r\n\r\nit is an AIX 4.3, M80. Old machine. \r\n\r\nCan I reboot this server if the mksysb has this kind of error? Will the system come up if I reboot? \r\n\r\nDoes any one know?? please help me. I need it Sunday mornning.
