are you using sco unix, make sure the OS patchs needed were installed. check informix release notes. I remember there were some patches for netlib and dual cpu must be installed on that platform.

sometimes indicates the installation problem or enviroment set up incorrectly.

检查环境变量，如果是第一次初始化是否按照正确的步骤安装软件或者是被别人又执行了一遍安装sh
