安装问题(台式机上装unix 507)
sco的确是很烂的系统,即便是5.0.7,
楼主的这个问题还是由于sco引导过程没有正确识别硬盘的geom参数
以下是sco技术中心所谓的5.0.7有关解决办法:
Problem
At first reboot after installation of SCO OpenServer 5.0.7 I get the following error message before reaching the Boot: prompt:
not a directory
Boot not found
Cannot open
Stage1 boot failure: error loading hd(40)/boot
The disk geometry is not being recognized by the system correctly. This happens because the disk parameter table in the masterboot sector is malformed. The first byte of the parameter table must be 0x10, or the table is ignored.
Solution
To correct the masterboot record and the /etc/masterboot file, follow the procedure below:
1. If the system is currently booted from the hard disk, skip to Step 10. If it cannot be booted from the hard disk, locate your OpenServer Release 5.0.7 installation CD. (Use the boot floppy if your system cannot boot from a CD.)
2. Reboot the system with the SCO OpenServer installation media in the drive.
3. Type 'tools' at the Boot: prompt.
Note
If you used a special boot string during installation you may need to use the same parameters in the boot string to allow the installation media to be recognized.
For example:
Boot: tools link=alad Sdsk=alad(0,0,0,0) Srom=wd(0,5,0)
4. The kernel will load. This may take a few minutes. When completed, the system will display:
Starting Initial System Load From: Floppy Disk
Reading from Install Source: ## KB
5. The 'Restricted Rights' screen will appear. Press <Enter>; to continue.
6. At the next screen, verify that the installation media is correct. Make any necessary changes to the media selection and press <Enter>; to continue.
7. Insert the installation media when prompted.
8. The system will verify the installation media and begin to extract files from the media. The bottom of the screen will read:
Reading from Install Source: ## KB
9. After a few utilities are extracted, the system will display the following menu:
1. Execute a shell on ramdisk filesystem
2. Shut down the system
3. Run IQM to Start Initial System Load
Choose item `1'. An installation prompt will be displayed.
10. At the installation prompt, enter the commands as instructed in steps A-C below:
Note
The commands shown below correct both the /etc/masterboot file and the data in the masterboot sector of the root drive. The pound signs (#) and asterisks (*) are system prompts and are not entered with the commands.
A. Enter these two commands:
# /etc/_fst -w /etc/masterboot
* 2/x
The response appears similar to the following:
0x0:0x2: 0x17a
B. Using the format shown in the following example, enter the address reported in the previous command (the second line is the response from the system):
* 17a/h 10
0x0:0x17a: 0x0 = 0x10
C. Enter these commands to complete the process:
* $q
# dparam -w /dev/rhd00
# dparam /dev/rhd00 `dparam /dev/rhd00`
Note
Do not confuse the grave accent marks (`) with single quotes.
11. Reboot the system and boot from hard disk. |
