error when I do the ./configure

I have download the source package version 8.1.2, and when i do the ./configure operation , the error is

checking for readline... no
configure: error: readline library not found
If you have readline already installed, see config.log for details on the
failure.  It is possible the compiler isn't looking in the proper directory.
Use --without-readline to disable readline support.

i don't want to use --without-readline-- to desable the readline support, so i wanto know what package should I install, and how to get the readline library,

PS: I try to apt-get install readline, but it can't find the readline,,,

any suggestion is welcome,,

libedit库有吗,这个与readline效果一样.
也可以apt-get install libreadline5
