标题: 在4TB的磁盘阵列上安装centos 5.2失败,提示不能从GPT分区引导
在4TB的磁盘阵列上安装centos 5.2失败,提示不能从GPT分区引导, 即使将每个分区都限制在2TB以下, 仍然提示这个问题. 从网络上找到相关资料, 对此有一些疑惑, MBR到底是每个分区不能超过2TB,还是整个磁盘不能超过2TB?

另外,请问在如何解决这个问题? 必须使用centos5.2, 32位的机器, 用户必须能够使用全部的4TB , 用户的机器是DELL poweredge R710.

没弄过这么大的分区.
/boot单独分出来没有?

可以先安装系统，然后再挂载阵列阿

问题是现在系统都装不上,在分区那一步就出问题了,当所有的区都划分好以后, 点下一步会提示不能从GPT引导,导致安装失败
PS:用户就是一个raid, 没有额外的磁盘做系统盘

单独加一块磁盘(小点没关系)安装系统,然后再挂载阵列吧

mbr总的容量不能超过2t，包括raid。
你这问题跟我遇到的问题一样，我的实在redhat5下面安装的五块硬盘做的raid5，你可以参考一下

我遇到過類似的問題，也許會對你有所幫助。

公司新購一臺DL 180G6 主機6顆硬盤，單顆硬盤容量1T，做RAID 5后還有可用空間4.6個T
當我裝REDHAT 4.7 時，在分區時報錯。
解決辦法：利用主機自帶光盤 ACU 進行設置，將所有硬盤納入磁盤陣列管理工具，
再將所看到的空間進行分區及做RAID（類似HP EVA 劃空間），必須空間小於2T ,
然後安裝系統。

MBR是要求，单分区不能大于2T，然后，后续的分区的起始扇区也要在首个2T以内，所以，基本上你理解为，不允许整个磁盘超过2T就行了。

4T，几个硬盘，在RAID中多个 lua啊，我们5T 弄成500g,500g,2t,2t 就很好挂载了。

gpt分区需要给bios单独划分一个分区，1M-2M

我来提供一个官方的解决方案

Please boot the installl CD and get into the rescue shell (from the startup menu), then use something like

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=1024 count=1024
Please note dd command has to run on disk (e.g. /dev/sda) NOT on partition (/dev/sda1)

Then reboot the system and start installation by creating small partition for /boot

Before creating partition you would see "Initialize New Hard Disk Drive" screen.

As you are installing OS first time, there is no valuebale data in the disk, click on 'Yes' button to proceed with the installation process.

This screen only appear when only you have new hard disk install on the system. If the system installer did not find any readable partition table on the hard disk, then this configuration screen appear.

The system installation need to initialize the hard disk in order to make new partition table on the disk.

这样做就可以在大于2T的磁盘上装低版本的linux操作系统了吗
