摘 要：
The SilkWormÒ family of switches, offered by BrocadeÒ Communications Systems, is a
line of modular Fibre Channel switches that support up to 16 ports.
A SilkWorm switch can be used either as a stand-alone device, to build a simple fabric,
or interconnected with other switches, to build a much larger fabric. Interconnecting
switches in this fashion is called 'cascading'.
A single switch fabric is limited in the number of ports that it can interconnect. In order
to increase the connectivity of a fabric, there are essentially two options: to increase the
number of ports per switch, or to connect multiple switches together to build a cascaded
fabric.
