A:/boot --> B:/x/boot
A:/ --> B:/x
A:/usr --> B:/x/usr
A:/var --> B:/x/var
A:/var/www --> B:/x/ ...
It's not recommended because:
1. the duplication might not succeed, and fail to boot up because of misconfiguration or different H/W, e.g., SCSI. So, I'd like to retain the minimal O.S. in case any problems.
2. it shouldn't be recommended to over-write an entire running O.S., and so many targeted files are being openned.
3. the copy (e.g. A:/usr -> B:/usr) might bring some messy stuff on the target file system. (e.g., a file existed on B:/usr but not on A:/usr, links) |
