Linux Software Engineer
Location: Shanghai(most), Beijing
Job Description
The Linux Technology Center organization in Greater China STG is an integral
part of the global Linux Technology Center as well as the WW Linux
community. In addition, this organization will support Greater China sales
team (Hardware, Software, Services) to win with IBM Open Systems in existing
and new markets and drive local requirements to extend Linux reach in China.
We provide various Linux related positions including Linux
kernel development/kernel based virtualization solution and device driver
development. These are challenging and high growth opportunities for new
initiatives, talent development and technical leadership growth. They will
collaborate with global peer engineers on product component deliverables,
help build good reputation in Linux Community and support Greater China S&D
team to win in the marketplace
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above, major in CS or EE related.
- Good English and communication skills
- Proven track record and at least 6 years of experience for Linux related
especially low level development
- Strong C programming skill and algorithm development skill
- Be familiar with one or more areas about: Linux device driver, Linux
kernel development (memory mgmt, filesystem, scheduler), KVM
virtualization/performance tuning
- Problem analysis expertise both in defect and performance issue resolution
- Experience in open source community is a plus
- Knowledge of software development methodologies, Linux design and
architecture is a plus
- Knowledge of powerpc architecture is a plus
