PHP正式进入IIS微软与Zend携手推动PHP语言发展

全球最大的软件制造商微软公司日前与开源应用软件开发工具提供商Zend达成了长期合作关系。

据TechWhack网站报道，微软首席技术战略家Bill Hilf在一份声明中说，双方的合作将保证PHP应用程序能够兼容微软Web服务器软件以前和未来的版本。

令人瞩目的是，这个合作将涉及对Windows Server 2003及其未来版本Longhorn的支持。

Zend联合创始人兼首席技术官Andi Gutmans在一份声明中评价说，“PHP此前就能在Windows上运行，问题是它的表现一直都不是很好。”

今天，全世界有超过2200万的网站和1.5万家公司在使用PHP语言，它因此被NetCraft称为互联网最流行的开发语言。

Zend和微软的技术改进将自2007年第一季度提供给PHP语言的开发者，供他们开发出更优秀的应用软件。

Microsoft collaborates with open source software developer Zend

World’s largest software company Microsoft has entered a long-term partnership with Zend which supplies tools for developing open source applications.

Bill Hilf, a Microsoft technical strategist said in a statement that this deal would ensure that PHP programs run on past and future versions of Microsoft Web server software.

Impressively, this deal would involve support on both Windows Server 2003 and the upcoming version, code-named Longhorn.

Andi Gutmans, Zend’s co-founder and chief technology officer said in a statement on this new development: “PHP has always worked on Windows. The problem is that it never performed very well.”

The two companies would now work together to ensure that it would be easier to run PHP on Windows computers. These improvements would be made available to PHP’s active base of contributors for further enhancement.

因为他不可能在BS这块市场上又出 .NET 又推PHP，这无异于搬起石头砸自己脚

微软这么做仅仅是想让那些php应用以后可以更多的考虑采用windows server而已
况且跟微软合作会越来越好的，想想看以后用php写.net application，那该多爽啊
