Overall Purpose of the Role:
This role will be part of EDS’ global Request-to-Pay Integrator operations, and is based in Shanghai. The RTP Integrator function works closely with the GM customer as a intermediary between GM and its IT Suppliers (including EDS). The RtP Integrator establishes standards, tools and processes that must be followed by all IT Suppliers (including EDS).
This role has specific focus on the management of GM’s IT Assets (eg Desktops, Servers, Software Licences, Network Switches, etc) within GM’s Asia Pacific operations. The role will be to oversee the implementation, and ongoing operation, of GM’s global IT asset management processes – both internally within GM and within GM’s IT Suppliers. The role will work closely with both internal GM personnel and key contacts from the major IT Suppliers to GM such as EDS, Hewlett Packard, IBM and Cap Gemini.
Responsibilities:
General:
Assume responsibility for tactical (or operational) aspects of the global Software License Management and Asset Management strategies as defined by GM
Maintain high level of technical expertise and procedural knowledge regarding GM’s IT Asset Management
Assume managerial oversight & coordination responsibilities for the on-going day to day activities of Asset Management performed by GM’s IT Suppliers
Work with GM’s internal business customers to make sure that the global Software License Management and Asset Management approach and direction are aligned with current overall business strategies

Qualifications/Experience:
Pre-requisites for the position include:
The candidate will have extensive experience (3 years +) in the field of I.T. Asset Management (through either in-house IT or in an outsourced environment), and knowledge of I.T. infrastructure components – eg server, switch etc. This includes understanding the relationship of IT asset management and supply chain management.
Knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is preferable, particularly Configuration Management.
Hands-on, operational experience working with IT Asset Management tools such as Peregrine AssetCenter or BMC Remedy is preferable.
Experience in implementing process change in a global organisation
Ability to work effectively independently, with little management supervision.
Experience working effectively as part of a geographically-disbursed team
Skills Required:
Strong oral and written communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with both GM internal contacts as well as GM’s IT Suppliers – including non-EDS suppliers.
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
Knowledge of IT assets, Asset categories, software license models, asset birth-to-retirement processes
Excellent English - reading, writing and oral to a conversational level
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, or equivalent experience
IT-experience and understanding is an advantage
Willingness to proactively accept responsibility, drive change and make decisions as required
Special Requirements: e.g. shift work - lifting - on-call required etc.
Must be available to attend occasional after-hours calls reflective of operating in a global environment and associated time-zone differences.
