An error occurred while starting the launchpad for a WebSphere Application
Server Version 6 product.  The launchpad contains system diagrams to help you
understand basic installation scenarios, the installable components for
each scenario, and the installation order.

Installation programs on the product CD
=======================================

If you already know what to install, you can locate the installation programs
in the following directories on the product CD:

WebSphere Application Server:   /WAS/install
IBM HTTP Server:                /IHS/install
Application Clients:            /AppClient/install
Web server plug-ins:            /plugin/install

Express product only: Installation programs on the Rational Web Developer CD
============================================================================

Locate the installation program for the Rational Web Developer on CD 1 of 3:

Rational Web Developer: /setup/setup.exe

If you cannot start the launchpad after using the following procedure, you can
find more information about any of the installable components in the readme
file in the same directory as the launchpad command.

Translated versions of the HTML document are in the /launchpad directory.


Express product only: More information on the Rational Web Developer CD
=======================================================================

If you cannot start the launchpad on the Rational Web Developer CD that
is provided only in the WebSphere Application Server - Express product,
find more information in the following documents in the root
directory on CD 1 of 3:
readme.html
install.html
migrate.html


Procedure for correcting the error that is preventing the launchpad from displaying
===================================================================================

The launchpad supports the following browsers:
   o   Mozilla
   o   Internet Explorer
Please refer to the product Release Notes for supported browser versions.

Use the following procedure to attempt to correct the error that is preventing
the launchpad from displaying and to try to start the launchpad again:

1. If you do not have the Mozilla Web browser, download and install the Mozilla
Web browser from http://www.mozilla.org.

    On Linux and UNIX platforms, export the location of the supported browser.
    For example:   

    export BROWSER=/usr/bin/mozilla


2. If the product CD is no longer accessible, insert the CD into a CD drive.

    Mount the drive if necessary on Linux and UNIX platforms.


3. Enable JavaScript in your browser.

     Mozilla:
         Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Scripts & Plugins:
               o  Enable JavaScript for: Navigator
               o  Allow Scripts to: (Check all boxes)

     Internet Explorer:
         Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level for Internet >
               Scripting > Active scripting > Enable
               

4. Restart the launchpad by issuing the following command:

        Linux and UNIX platforms:      ./launchpad.sh
        Windows platforms:             launchpad.bat
