-----------linux下mysql编译错误问题---------------

linux下已经安装好了apache，接着安装mysql，但按照网上提供资料配置，出错了，还请大家能给予指点。谢谢！！

[root@sp mysql-5.0.45-linux-i686-glibc23]# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/mysqlNOTE: This is a MySQL binary distribution. It's ready to run, you don't
need to configure it!
To help you a bit, I am now going to create the needed MySQL databases
and start the MySQL server for you.  If you run into any trouble, please
consult the MySQL manual, that you can find in the Docs directory.
Installing MySQL system tables...
OK
Filling help tables...
OK
To start mysqld at boot time you have to copy
support-files/mysql.server to the right place for your system
PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:
./bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
./bin/mysqladmin -u root -h sp.com password 'new-password'
See the manual for more instructions.
You can start the MySQL daemon with:
cd . ; ./bin/mysqld_safe &
You can test the MySQL daemon with mysql-test-run.pl
cd mysql-test ; perl mysql-test-run.pl
Please report any problems with the ./bin/mysqlbug script!

Starting the mysqld server.  You can test that it is up and running
with the command:
./bin/mysqladmin version

STOPPING server from pid file /home/software/lamp/mysql-5.0.45-linux-i686-glibc23/data/sp.com.pid

1.你下载的文件,根据文件名提示,它已经是编译好的二进制文件,不需要./configure;make;make install
mysql-5.0.45-linux-i686-glibc23.tar.gz

2.此安装包的方法,请看解压目录下的此文件
INSTALL-BINARY

方法类似下面
     shell> groupadd mysql
     shell> useradd -g mysql mysql
     shell> cd /usr/local
     shell> gunzip < /PATH/TO/MYSQL-VERSION-OS.tar.gz | tar xvf -
     shell> ln -s FULL-PATH-TO-MYSQL-VERSION-OS mysql
     shell> cd mysql
     shell> scripts/mysql_install_db --user=mysql
     shell> chown -R root  .
     shell> chown -R mysql data
     shell> chgrp -R mysql .
     shell> bin/mysqld_safe --user=mysql &

参考了好些资料,算是把问题解决了一大部分,正如 todayhero  同学所说的,谢谢,但有的我也不明白,比如"shell> "我要输入什么命令才能出现shell> 呢?还有他的作用,一点也不了解,呵呵.以后查看看.不过问题还是有的,还希望大家能赏脸,多看看小弟的帖子,给出意见,谢谢

还是先学学基础的东西吧~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
