How to check cable link staus and ndd usage?
checking link status with ndd
# ndd -set /dev/qfe instance 0 (instance set to "0" checks qfe0 status; "1" for qfe1,etc...)
# ndd  /dev/qfe link_status
  1
  ( 1 -up, 0 = down

ndd /dev/hme ? # list all the parameters for the hme drivers
ndd dev/hme link_speed # output the link speed; 0 is 10M, 1 is 100M, 1000 is G
