大型有奖征文:讲述DBA自己的故事

“Oracle DBA故事会”是一个为期3个月的大型有奖征文活动，由oracle公司和ITPUB联合主办。
      主要征集网友在数据库管理维护实践中的技术心得和感悟。征集到的文章将在网站上开辟专栏陆续发表，最后整理成为电子杂志提供下载，通过EDM传递给更多的DBA。通过传播这些优秀的技术经验类文章，切实提高Oracle数据库管理及服务技术水平。

征文要求和范围：

  1 文章要求：原创，文章结构完整，每篇字数不低于1000字；
  2 文章范围：Oracle数据库错误及故障追踪，性能优化,备份恢复等经验；我的Oracle数据库学习之路；
    管理Oracle数据库的心得与体会等；

  3 投稿方式：
           A 投稿信箱：xjg@it168.com
           B  ITPUB社区网友可以直接将文章发布在Space中,文章题目“【征文】XXXXX”；

  4 稿费评奖：对在ITPUB技术门户首页专栏上发表的文章，给予稿酬;所有文章在2008年10月7日评奖；
  5 征文活动时间：2008年6月10日－2008年9月30日;

  6 文章评奖：10月1日－15日;由社区会员投票评选;

  奖品有：
    1 明基（BenQ）2.5寸移动硬盘 120G  ；
    2 金士顿（Kingston）8G U盘；

Job Description

Business Unit Description :   Global Solution Centre in China is one of our fastest growing divisions. This position offers the candidate an exciting opportunity to be part of  world wide enterprise that reaches 64 countries, provides technology solutions to  global clients and works on EDS next-generation global delivery system.

Main Responsibilities
The system DBA will be responsible for the following tasks:
•        Installation and maintenance (upgrade and patches) of the DBMS
•        System level database backups and maintenance scripts
•        System level restores due to system failures (such as disk failures, hardware failures, etc)
•        Database user security (Create or modify database user ids and roles)
•        Overall system performance and availability
•        24x7 on-call responsibilities, for database maintenance, incident handling and problem resolutions
•        Work with the Application DBA's and application teams, as needed
•        Off-hour coverage of weekend implementations, as needed

Requirements

The DBA resources should have the following mandatory experience:
•        Experience installing and upgrading/patching the DBMS software
•        Experience with database migration
•        Experience with Oracle Streams and RAC, preferably on Solaris platform
•        Basic knowledge of the Unix platforms that the DBMS runs on – Unix for Oracle
•        Experience in DBMS administration tasks (user ID's, security, setup of instances, performance/tuning)
•        Proficiency in English
•        Good communication skills
•        Good follow-through skills
•        Self starter, able to take minimal direction and overcome obstacles

The following skills/traits are desired:
•        Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification
•        Experience troubleshooting Oracle databases
•        Cross background knowledge on the alternate DBMS (SQL Server/Sybase) and OS Platform (UNIX/Oracle & WINTEL/Oracle)
•        Strong English skills
•        Previous case management experience with the DBMS vendor
