Web Designer
We are in the market for an additional full time website designer/developer. Although I am currently heavily in favor of having this person be local in Chicago, if the right outsourcing candidate(s) was presented, we would very seriously consider them.
Hours - Beijing 3pm-11pm, no earlier, if he/she wants to start later Beijing time, it's fine with us, like 5pm-1am.
Creative - Be able to demonstrate great graphic design and concepts for websites.
1.Portfolio
1.Great graphic design concepts that represent web site designs.
2.At least 3 websites or web pages that highlight creativity, ability and quality for website design. We want sites that are at the level of design and concept on par with arciterra.com, mpallc.com and disrestoration.com as samples.
2.Platforms
1.Photoshop
2.Illustrator
Technical - Be able to demonstrate skillset in developing HTML pages using current best practices. Should be comfortable creating HTML pages without the use of DreamWeaver, FrontPage or other WYSIWYG software
1.Portfolio
1.At least 3 websites (they may be the same 3 websites as above) that demonstrate HTML/JavaScript skillset.
1.If the HTML code validates using http://validator.w3.org/ is a major plus.
2.Technologies
1.HTML
1.Should be familiar with HTML doctypes, and able code accordingly ( http://htmlhelp.com/tools/validator/doctype.html)
2.Should be aware of W3C web standards
3.Awareness of two primary methods of HTML layout, tables and divs
2.JavaScript
1.Familiarity with JavaScript libraries such as JScript, Prototype, Mootools or Yahoo! is a major plus
3.CSS
4.FTP
5.PHP/CFM/ASP/JSP - Major plus if experienced in any of these
