Brief Job Description
Devops-IT is looking for self-motivated, highly energetic individual with the following skills:·
* Strong background in AIX / HPUX support (2-5 years minimum)
* Enterprise application support experience
* Knowledge of OVM, VMWare, Xen and Virtualization software.
* Additional interests/skills in Shell automation & Perl programming.
* SAN & NAS knowledge and implementation experience of different vendors like EMC , NetApp, HP, Sun, IBM, etc.
The successful candidate will be self-sufficient, have experience supporting a large community of users (preferably development), and be able to work with minimal supervision. Experience with support-related projects and Oracle database & applications is an asset.
Detailed Job Description
Either Proactive support or React to potential problems using automation, scheduling, and monitoring tools -- escalating to management where appropriate. Participate in configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system. Responsible for support documentation as well.
* Primarily provide remote server/storage/application support (via support system/remote access) to a large community of users in 20 to 30 global locations.
* Provide on-site support (including: Server, Storage, Printers, network connectivity and Oracle applications) for Local Oracle office.
* Maintain productivity within defined performance metrics
* Troubleshooting and recording/tracking of issues using Oracle’s ticketing system in a time-sensitive manner.
* Participate in group and individual level support projects as required.
Job Requirements
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications: 2-5 years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.
Education
* DEGREE/MAJOR – Graduation mandatory (Engineering or Bachelor Degree)
* Any HPUX / AIX Certifications are an asset but not required.
Soft Skills
