| Brief Job Description
| Devops-IT is looking for self-motivated, highly energetic individual with the following skills:·
- Strong background in Windows 2000/2003 support (2-5 years minimum)
- Enterprise application support experience
- Knowledge of OVM, VMWare, Xen and Virtualization software.
- Additional interests/skills in Windows automation & programming
The successful candidate will be self-sufficient, have experience supporting a large community of users (preferably development), and be able to work with minimal supervision. Experience with support-related projects and Oracle database & applications is an asset.
| Detailed Job Description
| Either Proactive support or React to potential problems using automation, scheduling, and monitoring tools -- escalating to management where appropriate. Participate in configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system. Responsible for support documentation as well.
- Primarily provide remote server/application support (via support system/remote access) to a large community of users in 20 to 30 global locations.
- Provide on-site support (including: Server, Printers, network connectivity and Oracle applications) for Local Oracle office.
- Maintain productivity within defined performance metrics
- Troubleshooting and recording/tracking of issues using Oracle’s ticketing system in a time-sensitive manner.
- Participate in group and individual level support projects as required.
| Job Requirements
| Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications: 2-5 years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.
Education
- DEGREE/MAJOR – Graduation mandatory (Engineering or Bachelor Degree)
- Certifications are an asset but not required (A+, Network +, MCSE, etc.)
Soft Skills
- Self motivated and self managing
- Excellent Communication/Follow-up Skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to fulfill role/duties independently within defined policies and procedures
- Ability to multi-task and balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction is key.

Technical
- 2-5 years supporting an enterprise infrastructure environment
- Experience supporting Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista, MS Office Suite (2000 & 2003), e-mail clients, browsers, browser based applications, anti virus software, etc.
- Virtulization applications like VMWare, Xen, OVM knowledge.
- Experience supporting database & middleware installs on Windows.
- Capable of effectively troubleshooting hardware, software issues
- Willing to learn various technical tools, processes, and maintain acceptable working knowledge as technology progresses (various educational sources will be provided)
- Experience supporting enterprise applications (CRM, ERP, etc.) is an asset.
- Maintain productivity within defined performance metrics
- Flexible to work extended hours as required by the business
- Experience in a call-center environment supporting users remotely
- Participate in group and individual level support projects as required.
