Install Networker Server under the IBM HACMP
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Author: Eric Zhang (zhang_yongsheng@emc.com)
1)Prepare Shared Disk to hold 'nsr'
for example .
/legato is a shared partition.
2) Install Networker 7.4.1 Server packages on each physical node
#smitty installp
CAUTION: you need not start EMC Networker processes now . just install EMC Networker Server packages
3)execute /usr/bin/networker.cluster
CAUTION:after you installed Networker Server packages , you might can not find the 'networker.cluster' file. I found there is not 'networker.cluster' at all. so you might
need copy one from other place.
CAUTION: 'networker.cluster' script needs '/usr/bin/lcmap.hacmp' script s . and I also found that after installed the Networker 7.4.1 on AIX . there is no such an file
under /usr/bin. so , you might also need copy one or create one .
example:
#networker.cluster
CAUTION: before you execute this script . if /nsr.NetWorker.local exists. delete it
if /usr/bin/NetWorker.clustersvr exists, delete it
#networker.cluster
-----------------------------------------------------------------
HACMP is a high availability product for AIX.
It defines failover applications which may move from one node to
another, depending on the availability and health of the machine
it is running upon.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Do you wish to continue? [Yes]?
Enter directory where local NetWorker database is installed [/nsr]? /opt/nsr
//CAUTION: here enter the local location to hold local 'nsr'.
Restarting syslog daemon...
Do you wish to configure for both NetWorker server and client?
Yes or No [Yes]?
Do you wish to add now the site-specific values for:
NSR_SHARED_DISK_DIR and NSR_SERVERHOST in /usr/bin/nw_hacmp.lc
Yes or No [Yes]?
Enter the published Service IP Label to be used for NetWorker? 10.32.39.24
//CAUTION: here enter the service (virtual )IP or hostname
The mountpoint of the shared NetWorker directory (the nsr
directory) must be the same for all the nodes where NetWorker
server can failover to.
In what path will this nsr directory be created/located? /legato
//CAUTION: here enter the shared partition to hold shared 'nsr'.
/usr/bin/nw_hacmp.lc has been modified
Creating /usr/bin/lcmap file ...
-rwxrwxr-x 1 root system 4979 Nov 04 15:48 /usr/bin/lcmap
Finished creating /usr/bin/lcmap file.
NetWorker has been successfully cluster-configured.
4)Prepare EMC Networker Start and Stop script . (coz I was setting up a testing environment ,I didnt create monitor script )
EMC Networker Start script :
+++++++++++++++++
/usr/bin/nw_hacmp.lc start
exit 0
EMC Networker Stop script :
+++++++++++++++++
/usr/bin/nw_hacmp.lc stop
exit 0
5)add EMC start and stop script to HACMP extended resource group
6)Licensing
#touch /nsr/res/hostids
and adding the hostids of all the nodes. like
12345678:87654321:23456789
and then re-start the EMC Networker , you will got the clustered hostid in Networker.
7)Testing
#smitty hacmp
try to failover resource group to standby node , the EMC Networker should started on that node automaticly .
CAUTION:
and after the EMC Networker server failed over to the other node , on the current node 'nsr' should link to 'nsr.NetWorker.local'
and 'nsr.NetWorker.local' should link to '/opt/nsr', and 'nsrexecd' should started on the current node.
coz '/usr/bin/nw_hacmp.lc' script will re-link the 'nsr' , and the started as a regular NSR client.
8)get a Coffee and enjoy it .
