    While CommVault is not exactly a household name, most everyone in the storage industry is familiar with the company. However, most everyone in the industry would classify CommVault as a backup and recovery solution provider. Of course that is true, CommVault has had a great deal of success with their Galaxy Backup and Recovery solution, with 2600 installed sites at 1500 customers across the globe, it has definitely gained market share against very well established vendors. Yet, the reality is CommVault provides much more than just backup and recovery software. The company has taken a much more holistic view of data management, addressing the assessment, placement and protection requirements of data throughout its lifecycle. CommVault’s QiNetix Unified Data Management platform consists of an integrated suite of products that provide data analysis, archive, and replication and migration capabilities in addition to backup functionality.
