北京网通ADSL ubuntu不能上网

我装的是xp和ubuntu8.10双系统，用的是北京网通ADSL，xp上网没问题，可ubuntu不能上网。。
$sudo pppoeconf 很多遍,用户名和密码不可能出错了，可是

$plog
后仍然出现以下信息，各位兄弟帮我想一下可能会是什么问题。。。

你那里的adsl的密码是不是加密了，你在xp下抓一下拨号的数据包，你看看密码是否变化了

密码是网通给的，在xp下抓拨号的数据包怎么抓啊？我不懂这方面的。。麻烦告诉我。。
