最新的exon-technology生产的“最便宜的笔记本”的配置有两种：
一种是使用Intel XScale 32-bit Multimedia Application Processor 416MHz
另一种就是君正的XBurst 400 MHz MIPSII (Optional)

但网上对exon-technology生产的“最便宜的笔记本”的意见是，alpha阶段的机器配了alpha阶段的软件。
这就是困惑所在。
厂商卖的几乎就是裸机，软件要等用户来开发？这有点象Apple II和IBM PC刚推出的年代，不知道用户还愿不愿意为它开发软件?

处理器也有两种，开发者面临为哪个架构开发软件的选择了。

1. Can you install Windows based programmes like Internet Explorer, Winamp, Firefox, Office on this laptop?
No. This laptop Operating System cannot handle these files. For software that will run on your laptop please visit the software section of this site.

2. Does the Bon Echo browser recognize and play Adobe Flash (.swf) files?
No. The browser does not support adobe flash files, since there is no Flash player available for this specific browser (yet).

3. Do Firefox Add-ons work on this browser?
No. The browser does not support these add-ons.

4. Can you install MSN / AIM / any kind of instant messaging software on the little linux laptop?
No. This laptop Operating System cannot handle these files. But it comes with Xchat pre-installed, a Pidgin based Instant Messaging program that supports a lot of Instant Messagers such as AIM, MSN, ICQ, Google Talks, etc. So no need to install another Instant Messenger

5. Can you install Office or Word, Excel, Outlook, etc on the little linux laptop?
No. This laptop Operating System cannot handle these install files. But the little linux laptop comes with comparable software pre-installed so you can read and write Word and Excel files, send E-mail via the pre-installed E-mail software and read PDF's and e-Books with pre-installed software.

6. Can you install other Operating Systems on the laptop, like Windows CE, XP, Vista, Mac OS X or Linux based OSes?
No. This laptop's Operating System is embedded and cannot be changed for now. Lunix hackers have been experimenting a lot with the little linux laptop and some of them have managed to get other Operating Systems on it, but they worked far from well. Until a reliable, bootable OS comes to surface, we'll just have to do it with this.

7. I heard the OS is based on the Linux kernel. I know a little linux, but i can't get to ROOT!
There original programmers blocked acces to root. To gain acces again please visit the Getting Root installer page, read the instructions and download the necesairy software.

8. Mmm.. sounds like a not-so-usefull little laptop. Is it any good?
YES! If you want a small portable laptop to take on trips or whatever you want to surf the web, IM chat, send and receive e-mail, work on your Word / Excel files, read PDF's and experiment a little with installing games and software then this is the laptop for you!
