职位描述如下:
Description:
Novell is looking for Linux desktop application engineers. The base will be Beijing. In this position, you will be working on Linux application development based on popular GUI environment including X, XGL, Compiz, GTK+, GNOME. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Coding, debugging and validating application software on SUSE Linux.
• Designing software modules with professional design documents.
• Collaborating with team members across different sites.

Required Skills:
1. Good C programming skill. Good code reading ability.
2. Knowledge of Linux development enviorment, Experience with Autotools.
3. Knowledge of gtk/gnome, Gnome development experience.
4  Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills
1. open source project experience.
2. hacker spirit with Linux desktop.

Qualifications:
• Master of Science degree in Computer Science or other related technical degree.
Additional qualifications include:
•  At least two years experience on Linux software development.
• Familiarity with GUI software development environment such as X, XGL, Compiz, GTK+, GNOME, etc.
• Skills in various programming languages such as C, Shell Scripting and others like Perl, Python, C++
• Linux system administrators or hacking experience is a plus
• Knowledge of Open Source development models
• Good software engineering skills, teamwork
• Good written/oral English skills

Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities):
This experienced software engineer will participate in the software development process for desktop products, primarily on the KDE desktop.  A willingness to learn and ask questions, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to focus on problem resolution are required.  This position will work with the development, testing, documentation, and human factors teams to design, develop and test high-quality products.

Responsibilities Include:
• Developing, patching, packaging and polishing open source software for SLE and openSUSE Community
• Identifying issues and developing solutions for those issues
• Integration of Novell specific desktop solutions within KDE
• Developing test plans with QA
• Writing test automation scripts and programs
• Providing input for product documentation
• Reviewing requirements and design documents

Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE or equivalent and 3-5 years related work experience.
• Experience developing in C++
• Experience developing for Qt and/or KDE
• Experience with debugging technologies such as gdb, strace, ltrace, valgrind
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as on a team both locally and remotely

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with distribution packaging
• Experience with underlying desktop technologies such as X, hal, dbus
• Experience working with open source software and communities

Preferred Locations:
• Beijing, highly qualified remote workers will be considered
