Unix Systems Administrator Job Requirements :
Must Have Skills :
- Extensive and advance system administration knowledge of Solaris 10 Operating System on various Sun Sparc based Enterprise class and X86/64 based servers like T1000/T2000/T5220/V490, x4100/4600 etc.
- Good knowledge and hands on experience on SAN (Hitachi) and Network attached storage/Filers (Network Appliances).
- Must be proficient with UNIX shell commands and scripting and also good exposure to Cyclades for remote consoles.
- Advance knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas Cluster Server.
- Advance troubleshooting skills in Unix and hands on experience in configuring, performance tuning and monitoring servers running on Solaris OS . Monitor server resources such as CPU, IO, and Disk to understand current resource requirements anticipate growth needs.
- Must have command of advanced TCP/IP networking concepts including DNS, IPMP, routing etc.
- Good knowledge of configuring services on Solaris based servers and installing packages etc.
Nice to have skills:
- Sun Certification in Solaris 10 OS
- Knowledge of Shell scripting in ksh/sh etc. and Perl.
- Good knowledge of Red Hat Linux OS.
- Experience working experience in large volume
soft skills needed :
- Exceptional communication skills (must interface with multiple groups and functions across time zones)
- Bi lingual (English and Shanghai (not sure the Chinese dialect)
- Prefer strong project management experience
- Assertive vs. passive
- Strong interpersonal skills (ability to adapt to different styles and cultures)
