alpha 400是什么年代的服务器啊？谁能给介绍一下这款服务器！

一直以来都是自己在家玩儿linux和BSD，以前一个朋友现在找了份网管的活，分了他几台digital的服务器，明天终于有机会玩儿一把64位的UNIX了，呵呵，高兴！
    他说他用的服务器是alpha 400的，打算装tru64 5.*。说还有digital unix，呵呵，这些我只是听说过，还不曾有幸见过。对这方面了解也少，谁能给简单介绍一下digital 的服务器和digital 、tru64操作系统，还有他们现在的关系，好象并购了好几次，都把我弄糊涂了！

Digital 生产的小型机用的芯片叫 alpha,故一般就叫Alpha小型机.

AlphaServer 400 是 95年左右的产品.小服务器.
在Alpha小型机上跑的unix系统叫 DEC OSF/1,后来叫 Digital Unix
到了4.0D 后叫 Tru64 unix

The AlphaServer 400 is a low-cost, entry-level server for any small to medium-size company or workgroup. It is ideal for customers who need a local area network (LAN) server for employees' file, print, and e-mail applications, or it can function as a file backup system or application server.

The system is housed in a mini-tower enclosure and yields the highest performance of any entry-level server on the market. The system, which runs at 166 MHz, runs up to four times faster than comparable competitive servers. The AlphaServer 400 4/166 supports 192 Mbytes of memory and 8.4 Gbytes of storage. It is ideal for such key applications in departments as ECAD, FABS, and EDI as well as horizontal applications such as database and high-performance computing.

The system runs three operating systems--Digital's UNIX (DEC OSF/1), OpenVMS, and Windows NT Server.

想问一下，这台机器新的要多少钱？2手要多少钱？？？？tru64 unix呢？

当时新的价格,我记不清楚了,可能是4~5万左右.
二手的好象很少.也就不知要多少钱了.

alpha server真cool，连显示器都是专用的，换个别的显示器都不行，键盘比普通键盘重3倍。昨天玩儿了一下digital unix 3.2，想装个tru64试试，可是连光驱的设备文件都找不到，说是在/dev/disk/cdrom0c，可是没有啊！也不像PC一样可以在bios里设置光驱引导，一开机就出现e5***b6……之类的，然后就是>;>;>;>;，呵呵，实在玩儿不转。不过也算见识了一次64位计算机是啥样！

太老了，如果真的买回来也没有什么用武之地，应该不值钱。
