Senior Application Engineer –Shenzhen/Shanghai

This role is for a person with broad electronic design, device testing and problem solving skills who will be helping to design in and support our current and new integrated circuits in the telecommunications field.  Talking to customers and customer visits will be required in order to help with the customer design-in of our ASICs.  They will help with the board level development of new applications and will support existing products. Engineers supporting ToPSync will be expected to have a high degree of software or embedded application knowledge.

•        Should be degree qualified with at least a BSc or BEng in a technical or Scientific discipline with some Electronics content.  Good pre-University basic education also required particularly in English, Maths and Science.
•        Should have at least 3 years of demonstrated related Applications Engineering experience in the use of integrated circuits with good debugging skills.
•        Must possess a thorough understanding of the theory behind electronic circuits & components.
•        A professional approach to adhere to project deadlines & cost objectives, & provide customer satisfaction.
Must be an effective communicator with the ability to interface at all levels within the organization, possessing a thorough command of the English

•        language, written as well as verbal.
•        Ability to work in & foster a teamwork environment with a demonstrated ability & willingness to share knowledge with other technical team members.
•        Be courteous and responsive to needs of the business, work colleagues and customers
•        Willingness to work as required by the job, with dedication “to doing what needs to be done”.
•        Some IC design knowledge an advantage in order to interface with design teams.
•        Ability to produce high quality documentation.
•        ToPSync Specific: IP, UDP, & Ethernet. IEEE1588 would be major advantage
•        Telecoms networks & standards knowledge would be a significant advantage
•        Must be confident with common laboratory test & measurement equipment
•        Telecom box building knowledge would be advantageous
Ability to generate scripts, design test systems, write/edit firmware in ‘C’ & ‘C++

. The better connected candidates are within the Chinese telecommunications industry the better -  specifically experience with Huawei, ZTE, NSN and ALU  would be ideal. Exp working with China Mobile would be an asset.
3. Experience with TD-SCDMA 2000 is a plus as is WiMax/ LTE ( 4G systems).  
4.  Candidates must have a very good understand of English and be able to communicate effective with the UK team.
