Job Description
Linux Performance Tuning Engineers play lead roles in a multi-discipline team working on new products and solutions. You'll be a part of an exciting team that creating the world wide benchmarks based on HP hardware. In this position, you will be highly involved in Linux kernel performance tuning for various Linux distributions. Also you will need to engage, possibly, in a totally unfamiliar OSS project.
Additionally, as a part of the multi-discipline team, you may be assigned to help team members who have various R&D responsibilities on a need basis. Your flexibility is required. We are looking for staffs who are self-motivated, self-guided, high-quality and enthusiastic about Linux & open source software development and its movement.
Qualification
Education:
Bachelor's, Master's on computer science, information technology, engineering, math, physics, etc.
Experience required (MUST):
. 6+ years of software development testing experience
. 3+ years of hardware related projects experience, especially on enterprise servers, storage systems.
. 3+ years Linux kernel development or performance tuning experience
. Have practical experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle, and familiar with QA methodology
. Leading and working with cross-functional teams
. Experienced in multi-nation environment
Knowledge required (MUST):
. Knowledge on software engineering in software development
. C, Shell and other scripting languages
. Solid knowledge on Linux and system performance tuning technology
. Knowledge on qualification testing, QA methodology
. Fluent both in written English and in spoken English
Knowledge (Would-like-to-have):
. Knowledge hardware system including server, storage system and I/O subsystem
