Job Summary:
Sr. System Administrator responsible for the design, build out and implementation of the company’s platform & network infrastructure based on cutting edge technologies. The candidate is responsible for building out and expanding new application, automation, and virtualization infrastructure for increased performance, reliability and scalability. The Sr. System Administrator will be supporting large number of Linux Servers in a high availability, high data volume environment. The candidate will need to demonstrate their expertise, practices, strategies and experience of large, enterprise application infrastructures.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
· Linux virtual server farm build-out, deployment, configuration, and ongoing system administration
· Plan for growth, specify, acquire, and install server hardware as required
· Monitor system utilization, capacity and response times, anticipate and mitigate problems areas proactively.
· Monitor daily activities and provide resolution as needed
· Troubleshoot and manage application and systems issues throughout their lifecycle to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
· Backup and recovery management
Required Qualifications:
· Must have 3+ years of recent Linux system administration experience (preferably in a high availability, web application, continuous build and test, and database environment)
· Strong Shell scripting or Perl experience
· Experience building, configuring, deploying, troubleshooting and tuning web server and database farms
· Excellent methodology to troubleshoot various kinds of problems (network, hardware and operating system related problems)
· Detailed knowledge of NFS, DNS, and LDAP
· VMWare and/or XEN for virtualization
· Experience supporting J2EE / SSH applications on a SOA architecture
· Experience with Cloud Computing and/or SaaS environments is a big plus
· Load balancers
· BS and/or MS in Computer Science or a related Engineering background
