ubuntu8.04安装sybase 15.5 出错

文件存在？

感觉在unix或者linux平台上资源文件的后缀应该为rs，而在windows上是res。


你贴的日志没有给出有用的信息。

====>I just simply view,and then I click button <install>

then start to install ,some minute later ,

then it comes to ASE Plug-in ,default is Enable, I just click button <next>

then appears followings:
please deselect any products that you do not want to configure now:
configure  new  Adaptive Server
   configure new Backup Server
   configure new Monitor Server
   configure new XP Server
   configure new Job Scheduler
      Enable Self Management
   Configure Web Services
   configure Unified Agent

then I deselect "configure new Job Scheduler","configure Web Services",
and then I click Button <next>

it appears :
please enter custom configuration values for the new Adaptive Server,
I don't do any change, just click directly Button <next>

then comes to :
please enter custom configuration values for the new Backup Server,
I clidk Button <next>

then comes to :
please enter custom configuration values for the new Monitor Server,
I clidk Button <next>

then comes to :
please enter custom configuration values for the new Monitor Server,
I click Button <next>

then comes to ;

configure UDP Adaptor (default)
configure JINI Adaptor
I click Button <next>

then comes to :
module name                     enable
simple login module             yes
ASE login module                yes
unix proxy Login module          no


then comes to :
the installer will now configure new serers with the following values,
please clidk next to proceed with the configurations
I notice that error log (of adaptive server) is /opt/sybase/ASE-15_0/install/UBUNTU.log.
I clidk Button <next >


then comes to;

...here i omit some message
Building Adaptive server 'UBUNTU'
writing entry into directory services
Building master device...
Master device complete.
Writing RUN_UBUNTU file ...
RUN_UBUNTU file complete.
Starting server...


then ERROR comes to me.

tasks failed
unable to boot server 'UBUNTU'

Also,the screen appears a ERROR BOX ,tells "failed to configure new adaptive server",then I have no choice but click OK.


then I check ERROR log, I use command:
vim /opt/sybase/ASE-15_0/install/UBUNTU.log
shows as following :

很大可能是你的master设备都没有创建成功。 检查目录$SYBASE/$SYBASE_ASE/init/logs里面的最新的日志文件中看看 failed to configure new adaptive server这句话附近有没有有价值的信息。

我看了$SYBASE/$SYBASE_ASE/init/logs，没有 “failed to configure new adaptive server”这个相关的信息

看了半天才明白过来，是安装完SYBASE后，在创建服务时失败，而且andkylee也说对了，你的MASTER根本就没有创建成功，导致这个失败的原因我曾经在REDHAT AS4下碰到过，后来改成SYBASE用户，把最大内存设一下。你在试试。估计是出在这儿了！

感谢 andkylee 和wfcjz 版主，现在我没有安装sybase，而是直接
从别的机器拷贝了一个 已经安装好的  sybase，是不是直接放到  /opt/sybase下面就可以用了，还要更改什么配置文件吗？
