Description

Provide technical support in localization projects. Assist localization project managers on technical processing of source files for translation. Run checking tools and fix issues to make sure the integrity of translated files. Performing translated file compilation etc. He/She would need to run some internally developed tools on some tasks. Also, the candidate is expected to write scripts or develop some small handy tools to further improve the efficiency and quality of the work.

Responsibilities:

·         Localizable Content Extraction and Insertion.
·         Pre-process and post-process files for translation using a variety of industry standard tools or internally developed tools.
·         Report any potential i18n or L10n issues during file processing.
·         Run file-checks on localized files and fix issues.
·         Support LPMs, Linguistic QAs or Localization service providers on technical aspects of translation files.
·         Continuously gather support requests from internal/external project stakeholders and work on to satisfy those requests.
·         Keep an eye on latest development in localization industry and incorporate that to daily work.

Qualifications

·         Qualification in Computing or related degree
·         Experience in localization industry. In depth understanding of the software localization process and i18n-dependencies
·         Familiar with at least one scripting language.
·         Knowledgeable with Trados, Passlo or any other CAT tools on engineering level.
·         Familiar with IE authoring tools like FrameMaker, Madcap, HTML Workshop, WWP.
·         Working knowledge of Online help compilation.
·         Good understanding  of various SW source format such as HTML, XML, RC, Java properties etc.

Soft skills:
