1, Job Title: Princ. SQA Engineer

Responsibility
• Work with little supervision in the development of automated native patch build tools for Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, and Linux.
• Work with little supervision in development of scalable system and stress test for SFHA product lines.
• Analyze the customer usage pattern and create comprehensive stack test to match the real customer environment.
• Is looked upon to offer direction, guidance and mentoring to lesser skilled individuals on the team.
• Analyze and triage customer issues in user commands as well Unix kernel module.
• Communicate with SAMG’s global cross-functional teams on ASRM process and progress.
• Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods.
Qualification (Plus)
• Experience on developing system-level autotest environment on UNIX a big plus
• Experience on storage management hardware and software such as VERITAS, EMC, and NetApp a big plus
• Experience on server virtualization such as VMware, AIX micro-partition and virtual IO, Solaris Zone and LDOM, HP virtualization a big plus
Qualifications
• 6+ year in software development experience on UNIX ( 3+ year in large scale system level multi-stack software)
• Strong programming skill in C with good knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Strong scripting skill in Perl, PhP, and Unix Shell
• Strong UNIX system programming knowledge – AIX preferred
• Strong knowledge on Web-based services development and ReST architecture style.
• Experience on developing, using, or managing Relational Database Management System – Oracle preferred
• Must be able to communicate in English both orally and in writing with global team
• Be flexible to work in early or late office hours in order to communicate with global team.
• A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related is required. MS degree is preferred

3, Job Title: Principal Business Critical Engineer
Location: China-Guangzhou/Shenzhen
Department Overview
Symantec has a high end technical services/support offering called Business Critical Services (BCS). BCS is an organization within Symantec that provides the highest level of technical support and services to the top enterprise customers who purchase a premium contract.
A key position in this program is the Business Critical Engineer (BCE), which has 24/7/365 on call responsibilities. The BCE is responsible for technically supporting Symantec’s Enterprise level products. The BCE will be instrumental in meeting cross service objectives within BCS accounts.
The BCE works with support, account managers, sales, professional services and all levels at the customer. The BCE identifies opportunities to provide proactive and preventative activities to reduce the number of issues experienced and optimize Symantec’s solutions and services.
Responsibilities
• Interact with customers who are of technical leadership or management rank, advising them in crisis situations.
• Ability to understand and provide high level technical support on Symantec’s Enterprise level products.
• Assist technical support with case resolution as needed.
• Performs duties with a high level of autonomy, interacting with Business Critical Account Managers (BCAMs) and other cross functional Symantec teams in responding to the service needs of customers.
• Ability to travel to the customer location and perform plans of action to resolve technical issues.
• Deliver customized proactive services to assigned BCS customers.
• Understand and communicate technical updates on open issues.
• Develop strong relationships with internal personnel in all functional areas of Symantec.
• Assist the account team to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
• Mentor for junior engineer
• Available 24x7 on-call for each assigned BCS accounts
Qualification
• Certified in Symantec Endpoint Protection or equivalent working experience.
• Certified in Microsoft Exchange or CISP would be benefit.
• With at least 5 years in a corporate support environment with previous customer facing experience.
• An advantage if candidate has good knowledge of Symantec Antivirus product family (Symantec Antivirus, Client Security, Norton Enterprise Antivirus and Client Firewall) and/or Knowledge of Symantec's Vulnerability Management product family (Enterprise Security Architecture, Event Collector, Event Manager, and Early Warning) and/or knowledge of Symantec AS/Content Filtering product family (Mail Security, Web Security, Brightmail).
• Specific or related experienced in technical support of Windows 2000/XP/2003, UNIX and Linux.
• Strong expertise in networking, TCP/IP and name resolution.
• Strong expertise in malware propagation and mitigation methodologies.
• Ability to explain complex security issues to all levels of a customer’s management team.
• Strong background in virus removal and enterprise security concepts.
• Basic database skills in MS SQL and Exchange.
• Industry recognized accreditation.
• Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related area. |
