ACPI与OSPM是什么关系？

打算看ACPI的spec，第一章第一段话就有疑问，spec上写道：

The Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) specification was developed to establish industry common interfaces enabling robust operating system (OS)-directed motherboard device configuration and power management of both devices and entire systems. ACPI is the key element in Operating System-directed configuration and Power Management (OSPM).

我理解的意思大概ACPI是隶属于OSPM的一部分，那这个OSPM具体又服务于什么地方呢？ACPI SPEC上没有提到，wikipedia上这样说的：

The specification is central to Operating System-directed configuration and Power Management (OSPM); a term used to describe a system implementing ACPI, which therefore removes device management responsibilities from legacy firmware interfaces.

ACPI requires that once an OSPM-compatible operating system has activated ACPI on a computer, it then takes over and has exclusive control of all aspects of power management and device configuration. The OSPM implementation must expose an ACPI-compatible environment to device drivers, which exposes certain system, device and processor states.

我的疑问：
1. OSPM是一个标准吗？如果它是一个标准，那这个标准又是由谁来定义的呢？这个标准又为谁服务呢？
2. ACPI是隶属于OSPM的一部分吗？

老兄，你把关系搞反了。

ACPI 是一个标准，就是在ACPI这个标准里才提到了OSPM这个观念。简单的说，要实现ACPI, 传统的OS需要改变。新的OS（支持ACPI的）就可以叫 OSPM。

可以说，OSPM是ACPI的一部分。
