How can I install MySql on Fedora 8 ?

When I install MySQL, I got the following message:
[root@localhost ~]# rpm -ivh MySQL-server-5.0.51a-0.glibc23.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
      perl(DBI) is needed by MySQL-server-5.0.51a-0.glibc23.i386
[root@localhost ~]#

When I install DBI using perl Makefile.PL, I got the following message at the end:
Checking if your kit is complete...
Looks good
Warning: prerequisite Test::Simple 0.4 not found.
I see you're using perl 5.008008 on i386-linux-thread-multi, okay.
Remember to actually *read* the README file!
Use 'make' to build the software (dmake or nmake on Windows).
Then 'make test' to execute self tests.
Then 'make install' to install the DBI and then delete this working
directory before unpacking and building any DBD::* drivers.

And I still can't install MySQL. The error message I got is the same as before.

How can I install DBI and MySQL on Fedora 8 ?

最好还是用rpm装系统自带的mysql-server，另外你在用哪个版本的系统？

安装光盘里面没有rpm么？yum install 不行么？mysql网站有免安装的版本，直接运行就行了。

non rpm不用安装，直接解压到比如/usr/local/mysql下面，然后运行就行了。

我用DVD系统盘上自带的软件包就可以安装和启动MySQL服务.
