grub.conf的问题

台式机硬盘上只装了一个RHEL4.6，在安装的时候只有网卡无法识别，没有用安装序列号（自己当桌面用的），可安装好后却出现了两个菜单，请看

请问他们有什么区别吗？平时在笔记本安装都是

这样的菜单，随便问下rhgb quiet到底有什么作用，结合作用他们应该指什么意思

第一个有个smp后缀，貌似是支持多对称处理器的内核吧

第二个菜单没有smp。应该是一般的内核。你可以把第二个设置为默认的就可以了

rhgb指的是你以level5启动redhat的时候的GUI,quiet指的是你的kernel加载后的自检形象信息不显示

你的机器是双核的就用第一个，单核的就用第二个。

我的SUSE也因为死过一次也多了个菜单出来，我进去了是进到了文本模式的，好像是类似win的安全模式
