I emerge -C mktemp, and emerge world -uND then my wife
poweroff my computer.

bigmonk: boot from livecd, chroot into your install and
emerge coreutils
bigmonk, boot with init=/bin/bash, mount -o remount,rw / && ln
-s busybox /bin/mktemp, reboot
