ubuntu 7.10 启动后出现GNOME出错

装了ubuntu7.10以后每次启动都会出现一个GNOME出错的对话框：
There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.

Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly.

The last error message was:

Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.

然后整个界面就是那种不太好看的3D界面。
于是我用CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE来重启X
但还是会出现这个错误。
不知道是什么原因导致这个错误的。
请帮满不过解决于一下。

BTW：有的时候启动也会没有这个对话框，不过我使用gedit就会很诡异，在find的输入框里面居然无法输入字符
