在搞Gentoo的时候，安装Gnome2.16.1，发现portage 中net-dns/avahi这个软件，试图看看到底是个什么东东！
官方作如下介绍:（http://avahi.org）
Avahi会在本地网络搜寻可应用的服务。类似的技术可以参考 MacOS X中的zeroconf.其依赖于D-bus（freeDesktop)在系统守护进程和用户应用程序之间的通信。是从多播DNS获得的灵感。
Avahi is a system which facilitates service discovery on a local
network. This means that you can plug your laptop or computer into a
network and instantly be able to view other people who you can chat
with, find printers to print to or find files being shared. This kind
of technology is already found in Apple MacOS X (branded Rendezvous,
Bonjour
and sometimes Zeroconf)
and is very convenient. Avahi is mainly based on Lennart Poettering's
flexmdns mDNS implementation for Linux which has been discontinued in
favour of Avahi.
Avahi is an Implementation the
DNS Service Discovery
and
Multicast DNS
specifications for
Zeroconf
Computing. It uses
D-Bus
for communication between user applications and a system daemon. The
daemon is used to coordinate application efforts in caching replies,
necessary to minimize the traffic imposed on networks.
